Our History
Lindley Elementary School is named for Aaron T. Lindley, who served as superintendent of Fort Wayne Community Schools from 1952-1961. Prior to joining FWCS, Lindley served as the superintendent of Lafayette Schools. The school was built in 1970 and the first principal was Charles Culp. As the district’s only Spanish focus school, Lindley provides Spanish language and culture focus. Students receive daily Spanish instruction, but all core subjects are taught in English. Lindley is a Title I school and offers the English Language Learners (ELL) program. Lindley students feed into Portage Middle School and Wayne High School and is located in the Board of School Trustees District 5. |
