Meet the Principal
Dr. Jennifer Nickell
I have attended Fort Wayne Community Schools since kindergarten. I went to Northcrest Elementary, Northwood Middle School and Northrop High School. I am a lifelong learner and come from a family of educators. I began my teaching career at Blackhawk Middle School and later served as an instructional coach at Northwood Middle School. I then became an assistant principal at Justice Intermediate School in Marion, Indiana. After that I returned to FWCS as the assistant principal at Price Elementary School.
In 2018 I was honored to be named the next principal of one of the coolest elementary schools around, Lindley Elementary School. I earned my doctorate from Oakland City University in 2019 during my first year at Lindley.
Lindley is truly a wonderful school. Our school family works hard to ensure that students have a fantastic learning environment. Our students learn Spanish alongside traditional academic subjects. This love for the Spanish language and culture combined with the support of our students, families and staff made me feel like I had hit the lottery when I became Lindley's principal in 2018. We are a friendly community at Lindley and we all work together to achieve our goals. Seven years later I still feel incredibly blessed to be part of this exceptional school.
At home I live with my husband Stephen Bryden (Mr. B), a pre-K teacher at Whitney Young and our two sons who also attend great FWCS schools. In my free time you may find me admiring or caring for my plants at home.
