Learning Enhancement

Lindley Elementary enhances student learning by establishing a well-rounded educational experience that integrates technology, literacy, wellness and real-world connections. Students are empowered to think critically, grow creatively and develop the skills they need to succeed in and beyond the classroom.

1:1 Technology
At Lindley, we are fortunate to have 1:1 technology in grades K–5, along with technology resources in pre-K. We strive to create a balance between digital tools and hands-on learning. While we embrace the advantages of technology in a digitally driven world, we also teach students the importance of moderation. Students use reading and math applications that differentiate instruction based on individual learning levels. These tools also provide valuable data to inform teachers’ instruction. Additionally, Lindley students benefit from coding instruction using Ozobots and Spheros and have the opportunity to create projects with our 3D printer while learning Tinkercad.

Media Center
Lindley has a media center filled with a wide variety of books for students to check out and enjoy. Our outstanding media center clerk brings a passion for literacy, engaging students in fun, interactive reading activities that often connect with classroom instruction. Students love visiting the media center, which they have the opportunity to do once a week.

Taking Root Wellness Program
Our 4th and 5th grade students participate in this program to develop healthy lifestyles through fun and engaging challenges. With a focus on physical wellness, nutrition and overall well-being, Taking Root encourages students to make positive choices and become the healthiest versions of themselves.

JA in a Day
Through a partnership with Junior Achievement of Greater Fort Wayne, community volunteers spend a day at Lindley teaching students about business, economics and financial literacy. This hands-on program equips students with real-world skills and helps them understand how money and businesses operate in their daily lives.

Real Men Read
Male role models from the community visit our classrooms to read with students, promoting literacy, fostering meaningful relationships and showing that reading is for everyone.
