Clubs & Activities
At Lindley, our staff understands how important it is for kids to have fun while they learn and grow. That’s why we offer plenty of sports, clubs and activities. These give students a chance to try new things, build confidence and learn how to work as a team. It’s also a great way for them to make friends and feel more connected to school.
Art Club
Lindley’s ELL teacher runs the Art Club once a week. Students stay after school to learn new art techniques and showcase their artistic talents. Students learn various art styles and crafts. At the end of the year, students display their work in an art gallery event.
Spell Bowl
Students in grades 4 & 5 participate in the Spell Bowl, staying after school to learn spelling strategies and practice challenging words. They then compete in the state Spell Bowl, where each student spells seven words. Each correct word earns a point for the team, and students are recognized for their efforts.
Math Bowl
Students in grades 4 & 5 also participate in the Math Bowl. They meet after school to practice problem-solving strategies and tackle complex math problems. In the state competition, a team of students collaborates to solve several math questions. Each correct answer earns a point for the team and students are recognized for their hard work.
Basketball Team
Lindley has a coed basketball team coached by Mr. Martin, our case manager and Miss Davis, one of our kindergarten teachers. The team practices three times a week to develop basketball skills, endurance and sportsmanship. They compete against other schools, showcasing their athletic abilities and teamwork.
Robotics Club
provides an opportunity for 5th grade students to increase their technology skills. During club meetings, students design and build robots, then write code to direct the robots to perform simple actions. Our students take their robots to competitions both in and out of town. This is a great STEM activity that encourages creativity and ingenuity.
